I grew up in Flint, Michigan in a large family of
seven. Being the big sister to two brothers, I grew up playing school and teacher and have aspired to work with
children for as long as I can remember. Though I have always imagined myself as a teacher, it has not been until recently,
as a result of my student teaching term, that I have truly understood the reasons for my career choice. As an educator
over the course of these past 15 weeks, I have uncovered a new joy in watching understanding light up my students' faces.
I have realized that those moments are why I want to teach. I look forward to this career in which I can provide love,
learning, and encouragement and strive to impact children's lives as much as they have impacted mine.
